The Ultimate Goal Of Thought Leadership.

IMG_0768Almost ten years ago there was one area that made me genuinely curious since it was the key to our professional success. This set me out on an exciting journey exploring the area of reputation. A lot of amazing people like Richard Branson, Warren Buffett and Seth Godin talked about how important reputation has been for their huge success. Today I’m more convinced than ever that everything in our professional life revolves around it, whatever positions we might have.

One of the ultimate goals of becoming really good in one area and building your reputation around that venture is to become a thought leader. It’s all about contributing value also far beyond your network, it goes beyond expertise and it’s never about self promotion. Calling yourself a thought leader or guru won’t do the job any more, but being perceived and having the reputation as one is a completely different story.
