Never Ignore Your ’Soft’ Skills
To be honest, soft skills are not soft; they are the skills that generate results. We call them ’soft’ because it’s convenient and means we can then move on to something seemingly more important. But ignoring these skills is a huge mistake since they are a truly vital part building your reputation.
Hard skills have also become the backbone of many HR processes and the recruitment industry, probably because it’s safe, we can measure it, and it means business. But, how do you measure soft skills like commitment, creativity, inspiration, integrity or passion? As I see it, the only reliable way to do this is by discovering through your reputation how they are perceived.
