How Many Great Talents Go Undetected?
How many great talents go undetected? That was the question I asked myself the other day after giving feedback on a truly talented person’s reputation. He was genuinely surprised and had no idea how brilliantly he was perceived, and the truth is always in the eyes of the beholder. The problem is that these talents could miss out on a great many possibilities and will often get lost on the radar screens with traditional recruitment methods.
One of our most significant challenges is to communicate our value, and what clients care the most about are the things that touch, move and inspire them. They make their decisions based on emotions and, after that they look for the relevant facts that support their choices. So, if you are not 100% convinced about your unique qualities, how can you ever convince others?
