LinkedIn – A Reputation Platform.
Advices about LinkedIn is coming from everywhere these days. I listened to an interesting interview with Chris Brogan and LinkedIn expert John Nemo. What caught my attention was their discussion about turning your LinkedIn profile from merely a resumé into a reputation site focusing on your potential for the future.
We have to realize that nobody is actually that interested in you, they are interested in what you can do for them. In general we put a lot of focus on ourselves when our main focus should be on how we can add value.
Building your reputation online is of course very important. In every crucial part you should however start by building your reputation offline and then have a effective strategy to put it online. It doesn’t matter how you position yourself online if you don’t live up to your unique qualities of your reputation in your daily business collaborations – online or offline.
