My Cred Decides Every Deal

file9191339851357A wile back I started to explain to a CEO of an advertising agency about our work with reputation. She interrupted me and said: ”Ah – that’s my credibility – it decides every deal”. At that moment I knew that I couldn’t explain it in any better way.

Credibility is a vital part of your reputation. Without trust, the most successful business or individual will loose. When you know the unique qualities of your reputation you should try to live it at every moment, at every meeting and have the ambition to constantly improve. You are never better than your next project.

Warren Buffet is one of the most successful businessmen and investors in the US ever. One of his secrets is that he always had his focus on the importance of reputation. He wrote on one occasion: “We can afford to lose money — even a lot of money. But we can’t afford to lose reputation — not a shred of reputation”.

This year he sent out a memo to his top executives highlighting the company’s top priorities saying that reputation should be their number one concern. To Warren Buffet reputation and trust is more important than anything, even profit.
